The old format for the former board was wonderful. It served me (and the world) well. With well over 13k post countless people have been helped over the past 6 years. But like just about everything else sometimes it is simply a good time to make a change.

So why the change?

First and foremost this board allows more information to be shared in a friendlier and stickier environment.

Secondly this board will make it harder for the spammers to come and post their garbage and if they do it will make it easier to ban/block them completely once and for all.

Finally the board needed to be modernized. The look and feel and the programming behind the scenes. It was, simply stated, a time for a change.

Now that the board is up and running slowly but surely the new board's bugs are being worked out. A new logo is going to be installed and eventually the whole website will look different. While I am not 100% certain how the new main page will look I can tell you that it too will be modernized.

And so....

If anyone has ANY suggestions please feel free. I am all ears and believe me I still look upon this website not so much as mine but as something that belongs to everyone who stops by. Please let me know what you think. Drop me an email or send a message to me via the board. (one of the nice new features) I promise that I will be openminded to any and all suggestions and I will reply. (but no we won't be going back to the old board as someone already emailed and asked)

That's all for now. Take care all as usual,
Jim Wilson

It was good you did this... you have to bite the bullet sometimes. However, with most changes, there is going to be a slow beginning.
In this case, new people will visit here and it looks like there isn't much action so they go on their way. They may not have any idea how many posts were on the old board.

You might want to offer some incentive to get people to sign up, some freebie.
And I would work on REALLY showing people the old board and messages just so they can see there ARE people here and action.

Once again solid suggestions!

I already have an ad campaign about to begin in 2 days which should drive some serious traffic to the board. In addition I am working on some other ideas that might just be the fuse it takes to get things rolling.

I am really hoping to find someone who will be willing to take on the home page and make it fit the scheme of the new site. As I envision it the new home page will point out some valuable auction links and in addition will lead to the board as a center piece of the website. I am searching around the net a little to get some ideas on how exactly I want the new site to look and feel. If you know of any please let me know.

In the meantime thanks again. Your input is invaluable!
