I would like some beginner tips to the whole world of auctions. I wanna test the waters with some stuff I have laying around here. Like a Sony head unit, Simpson's and family guy stuff. What should be some of the things I know to get started?

The best advice is to "just start". Sometimes people get wrapped up in waiting so long and procrastinating that they never begin.

If you are completely new, I would absolutely recommend to you that you go through eBay's help files thoroughly.
They already have the answer to most questions.
I am not pawning you off to another place for your answers, but eBay's help files contain so much more information then a few tips here and there from this board.

Start here, eBay's Seller Central: http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/index.html

Once you have gone through the files and understand the basics more, we can answer more in-depth and specific questions.

That is good advice. I started to take pics of my items.

As you're going along learning, try to keep your listing costs as low as possible. For instance, you can use a free image hosting service like PhotoBucket to host the images you put in your listings.
http://www.photobucket.com

Or, if you happen to have any webspace being hosted somewhere, you can store your images there and put them into your listings.

Try not to use eBays "Listing Designer" by creating auction templates yourself or find some free ones to download through Google.com

Fees are like .10 cents here .25 cents there, but it adds up and cuts into your profit.
