Read my message again.
I delivered the items in question on time. I issued positive feedback for both of my customers. They were not happy. Did they attempt to email me? Did they attempt in any way to contact me? NO!
And therein lay the real problem.
If a buyer is unhappy with something they buy on ebay they should at least attempt to remedy the situation before they issue negative feedback. Negative feedback is supposed to be THE LAST RESORT.
And so I stand by my statement of 3 years ago firmly. Sellers should withhold issuing positive feedback until such time as the entire deal has been closed; meaning the item has been delivered AND the buyer has left positive feedback. This is a sad sort of an insurance policy but a necessary one. Because there are people out there, like you perhaps, who shoot the negative feedback out first and then ask the questions later.
All of my ads CLEARLY state 100% satisfaction, money-back guarantee. All they had to do was ask.
People just don't seem to get it sometimes folks. When you issue feedback, YOU own it. If it damages the reputation of the seller and wasn't warranted, you might just end up regreting it.
I assume Steve from your post that you believe it to be perfectly alright to use negative feedback as a first resort if any problems should arise? If this is the case then I am afraid YOU just might be the one who is undermining the resource that is the ebay feedback system and thus you are forcing sellers to defend against unwarranted negative feedbacks.
Ok, I am stepping off of my soapbox now. I know of many other powersellers who do the exact same thing that I do; they don't issue the feedback until the buyer is happy. The proof they accept is positive feedback.
