In Response To: Re: Words of Warning To All! (Audrey)

Okay - so I tried to let this thread go by without posting, but I just have to.

First off, I believe that the feedback system should be used as it was intended... to give other potential buyers/sellers an idea of what type of person they are dealing with.

Unfortunately, just as with anything in life, there are a few bad apples and sometimes people get negatives that don't deserve them.

But, I have to respectfully disagree with those who feel you should hold feedback hostage. I give positive feedback right away on most occassions. If I don't have postive vibes about the transaction or if I am worried I might get a negative with a negative, I would probably hold off and not leave feedback at all.

If I get an email from a seller that tells me that their policy is to leave positive feedback when they receive it from me.... my response is simple... I just don't leave them feedback.

I don't believe leaving a positive feedback for someone just so they will give you one is a good idea. If nothing else - just leave none. I don't believe people should have that kind of control over others actions. And again, if you are being coerced or bribed for a positive feedback - the system doesn't mean anything anyway.

I have received 4270 positive feedback... almost 300 of those were repeat customers. :) I have received 7 negative. I can tell you that I didn't deserve any of them - but it's ok. As much as I hated receiving them - they aren't the end of the world.

I have left 7929 feedbacks for other people... getting pretty close to double the amount left for me. Lots of people just don't take part in the feedback system... that's their choice. I just don't think we should try to force them into it by bribery or threats of negatives.

Anyway - I've rambled enough. Bottom line, if you buy something from me and pay promptly, you will see a positive feedback from me. If you sell me something and I receive it promptly and I'm happy, you'll get a positive.

Just my .02.

Robbin
