In Response To: Some more food for thought (Jim Wilson)
I really appreciate and respect the Seasoned Professonals that are willing to freely give their wisdom and suggestions on this Forum. I am also very grateful for the existance of this Forum, I have learned so much from it.
Now, for my 2 cents. I agree with the idea of witholding Feedback until the Transaction is completed successfuly. In the little time I have been involved with EBay I am getting about a 70% respoinse in Feedback. I have been blessed and have been able to maintane 100% Positive Feedback so far, but as I start to do more business I will be increasing my odds of recieving malicous Feedback at some point.
Every endeavour, business or otherwise, has it's negatives. With that said, it is just one of the challenges that any business person will encounter that must be overcome with knowedge and the wisdom of seasoned veterans.
After reading this Thread, I missed seeing anything that talked about the fact that you can respond to Negative Feedback. I know that it is difficult to leave much in the way of an explanation of your situation, being only about 50 or so characters in length, but it is something, which is far better than nothing.
When I am buying on EBay, I look at Feebback to ease my concerns, as do most. I am willing to look beyond Negative Feedback if there is a Positive Minded response to the Negative Feedback that makes sense. So far, it has paid off, I have yet to be burned and becuase of the knowledge and wisdom shared on this Forum I have side steped several potentialy difficult situations.
IMHO, Negative Feedback is just an ear mark and not the final decision in both my selling and buying. Although, I do agree that many people just don't have a clue because they are not willing to, or don't the time to, learn enough to protect themselves and make rational and informed decisions.
Just one mans opinion,
Jim
