I would.

Selling "stuff" isn't going to be as profitable as selling a certain type of stuff. This targets a specific market, and if they know you've got this available for sale, word will get around.

Things to consider:
+ What (exactly) you'll focus on.
+ Sources of wholesale/cheap material.
+ How much you've got to invest.
+ Who your target market is (don't say 'everyone.' It's not everyone.)
+ What discussion boards on internet are about this market segment. (you want to hop on those and be a friendly presence)
+ How long it's going to take to build a website with information about your product (if you're selling knives, have a site that includes the different types of steels and maybe a history, etc.)
+ Identify places where you can cross-market/buy a banner/announce auctions without getting blown off the site.
+ Check to see if there are ezines that will accept ads.

Once you know that, then budget your time and money and start writing down your plan.
