Hey Al,
Welcome to what I have come to call "The Great Online Equilizer". On no other site can you place an ad for so little and have it viewed by so many.
Some brief pieces of advice as you get started...
1. Try to find a niche. The most successful people on eBay have found themselves something to market that is their own little niche. For some it's collectables. Others are selling music and software. Toys and games. The key is to try to get into something that you yourself are interested in which will allow you to pass your own passion for that item on to potential customers in your ads.
2. Whatever you do DON'T GIVE UP! Making money on eBay is not all that different from other online endeavors. Nothing happens overnight. Online work means just that...work. And anyone who tells you anything different from this is trying to mislead you.
3. Learn as much as you can about writing ads, marketing, and making the most of your ad dollars. Anyone can spend a million to make a thousand. The successful people spend a thousand to make a million.
4. When it comes to online sales remember the story about the tortoise and the hare. A slow, steady, progressive pace will always win over a rushed one.
Sincere good luck. Visit us often here at AuctionHints and let us know how you are doing...
