How Do You Get The Most Out Of Yard Sales?

As I'am sure most here know,yard sales are a good place to find cheap merchandise to sale on ebay. But the question I have is how do you get the best results from them? How do you make sure you don't buy something worthless or pass something up that may do well on ebay? I mean,when your're at the yard sale you might not know the profitability of something that's there. Do any of you just look for certain things when buying from yard sales? I would also like your opinion on buying from flea markets also.
